The Paramount 448 A Srreet in Downtown Idaho Falls.  Originally built in 1919 as a premier vaudeville house, it was renamed Paramount and converted to a movie house after being acquired by Paramount Pictures in 1929. The theater, which seats nearly 1,000 people, retains historic charm with original design elements, including swan motifs, and serves as a cultural anchor in downtown Idaho Falls. You went up a large red carpeted ramp to get to the balcony and the restrooms. Users with flashlights would help you find your seats. Scott and sons collection but it is an important part of Idaho Falls history Paramount Theater lobby 1960s When it was built the Paramount was billed as the largest theater in the Intermountain West, with an orchestra pit, eight dressing rooms, and 1,400 leather-upholstered mahogany seats. There was a bike rack out front spnsered by Old Faithful Bottleing Compnay. Kid's could ride their bike to the theater and park thr there. You could use a milk bottle cap for the ticket. Gayety Theater The 1936 City Directory has the Gayety Theater at 352 A Street. The movie Northwest Passage was made in 1940 Scenic Theater Broadway 1910 Upper story was the People's Apartments Sky View Drive In theater concession stand , South Yellowstone Highway The original projection room, snack bar and rest rooms for the Sky Vu Drive-In Theater, South Yellowstone Highway. The door on the left was the men’s bathroom, the front door led to the snack bar. The women’s bathroom was on the other end. You had to go through the men”s bathroom to get to the projection room which was behind the second big window. Main Theatre in Rigby, Idaho. Deanna Durbin's "Mad About Music" was showing locally in 1938 - 1939. KID-TV Station and Studio on 17th Street. KID-TV  debuted on December 20, 1953, in Idaho Falls, becoming the first television station in southeastern Idaho. The motto was KID with a Punch. Pinecrest Golf Course Clubhouse 1965 In a survey by Life Magazine of public courses throughout the country, Pinecrest was selected as one of the three best public courses west of the Mississippi. Pinecrest Golf Couse Pro ShopPPinecrest was built in 1936 was constructed as a Works Progress Administration (WPA) project and is the oldest course in Idaho. Pinecrest Golf Course Pro shop. The clubhouse at Pinecrest was completed in 1937. It was built in a classic park rustic style with stone pillars, log walls and wooden interior. George Orullian was golf professional and director of Pinecrest Golf Course from 1936 to 1974. He and his wife Gertrude lived above the golf shop in an apartment. Boozer Oil Golf tournament Collage J H Boozer Oil had a grand opening of a new Tire Center on June 25, 1967. As part of this celebration a golf tournament was held at Pinecrest Golf Course. Mr Boozer participated in this tournament. Sport Cycle Sales, 1954 North Yellowstone Highway, November 24, 1970 Baseball clowning around. Baseball was a favorite sport in the towns around Idaho Falls in the 1920s,1930s and 1940s. Every town had a softball team. The uniforms and other clothing date this picture to about 1920. Whne they closed it they turned off the lights and walked away. It sat that way for many years. Parade 1936 These cars all date to about 1936 The banner on the lead car reads "BIG WATER CARNIVAL DANCE." : It notes that admission is "FREE TO THE PUBLIC" the sign on the second car mentions "RIVERSIDE GARDENS," For the War Bonnet Parade of 1948 the route went from the south end of Idaho Ave, across G street to Shoup, south down Shoup to Broadway, west on Broadway to Park, north on Park to E Street, west on E Street to Memorial Drive, south on Memorial Drive to disband near the Broadway Bridge. Parades since the 1960's started near Idaho Falls High School, west on 4th Street, south on Boulevard to Tautphaus Park. The building in the back is likely the Apartment building at 1398 Idaho Avenue Parade floats 1936 picture on left is Beckers Pioneer Beer, top picture on the rught is the Post Register Float, the bottom picture is the Bonneville Post American Legion Auxillary Float Waiting for the parade dated about 1936.
