A relay station was built near the City Central Power plant located on the Snake River near Capital and Broadway where the City Electrical building now stands.April 13 1939 In 1939 the City of Idaho Falls purchased the Lower Dam and Power Plant fro Utah Power. They rebuilt the aging dam built in 1911. The damis located about 8 miles ourth of the City Central Power plant. Address was 8635 South 35 West. Now knonwn as the Gem State Power plant and dam. Gem Lake Recreational Area was created building of this dam.
